Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborating with the finance leadership team to ensure accurate accounting practices and safeguarding of assets in compliance with accounting principles.
  • Overseeing the billing, accounts payable, and payroll teams, providing guidance on daily operations.
  • Preparing monthly financial reporting packages, including necessary work papers and reconciliations for review.
  • Reviewing financial data and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assisting in the development of annual budgets based on historical and projected financial data.
  • Representing the finance department in organizational meetings as needed.
  • Managing and mentoring finance department staff to support their professional development.
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and opportunities for workflow improvements.
  • Coordinating with external auditors for annual audits and preparing necessary documentation.
  • Collaborating with Human Resources on relevant audits.
  • Providing regular financial reports to administration, including budget preparations.
  • Assisting with cost reimbursement and government agency reports as required.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable fiscal laws and regulations.
  • Supporting the Finance Department in implementing automated accounting systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Participating in special projects as assigned.
  • Completing additional finance department tasks as necessary.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Management from an accredited institution is required; MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in healthcare or education sectors is preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
  • Supervisory experience is required.
  • Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
