Matheny is a specialized facility dedicated to serving children and adults with complex developmental disabilities. Our accredited non-profit school merges traditional education with therapeutic interventions and vocational skill development. Our Adult Services Program features licensed community residences and adult learning centers, staffed by experienced professionals who assist adult patients in achieving their highest level of functioning and community integration. We are currently seeking a Full-Time Accounting Manager to join our team.

Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the finance leadership team to maintain an accurate accounting system, ensuring proper recording of all transactions while safeguarding assets in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Supervise and guide the billing, accounts payable, and payroll teams, overseeing their daily operations.
- Prepare monthly internal financial reporting packages, including supporting documentation for review by the Director and CFO.
- Review and analyze financial data and general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in preparing annual budgets based on historical and projected financial data.
- Represent the finance department in organizational meetings as required.
- Manage and mentor finance department staff, promoting their professional development.
- Evaluate daily operations for efficiencies, identifying opportunities to streamline processes.
- Collaborate with external auditors for annual financial audits and prepare necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with Human Resources on audits related to employee benefits.
- Provide regular financial reports to administration, including budget preparation and compliance reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of cost reimbursement reports and government agency documentation as needed.
- Ensure compliance with applicable fiscal regulations.
- Support the Finance Department in developing automated accounting solutions to enhance efficiency.
- Participate in special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Management from an accredited institution is required; MBA or CPA is strongly preferred.
- A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in finance or accounting, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in healthcare and education sectors is preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential.
- Supervisory experience is required.
- Familiarity with Blackbaud Financial Edge is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills are necessary.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
