Each year, we serve more than 65,000 individuals and families across our 90 locations, with a significant focus on youth and immigrant populations.

CAMBA operates multiple shelters, including facilities for single adults and families, as well as a drop-in center. Our shelters offer a supportive, structured, and therapeutic environment that is safe and free from substance abuse. We provide comprehensive services to help homeless individuals, often facing mental health and substance use challenges, stabilize their situations and transition successfully into permanent or supported housing.

Position: Housing Support Specialist
Reports To: Director of Social Services

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals and families seeking social service support.
  • Conduct interviews and assessments for service applicants, develop service plans, and guide clients in executing these plans.
  • Identify and leverage community resources to benefit clients.
  • Support clients in achieving their housing objectives by connecting them with relevant services both within CAMBA and externally.
  • Facilitate housing searches for clients deemed ready for housing, including referrals to housing providers and landlord outreach.
  • Complete necessary applications for housing subsidies as required by funding sources.
  • Provide training and coordination of housing-related support in collaboration with other social services staff.
  • Review approved housing packages to assess the suitability of housing providers.
  • Accompany clients to important appointments related to housing.
  • Ensure that quality housing placements are secured through thorough checks and that all financial obligations to landlords and utilities are current.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • First Aid/CPR certification may be required.
  • Certification in overdose prevention may be necessary.
  • Bilingual candidates are preferred.

Compensation: $43,000 - $46,000 annually

Salary ranges reflect the low and high end for the position and program, with the final offer determined by various factors including experience, education, and program specifics.

Status: Full-time (35 hours per week)
