Role Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will apply engineering principles to manage technical projects and assignments effectively. This role requires independent decision-making based on sound engineering methodologies and active collaboration across departments to address critical process and product challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to manufacturing operations in a continuous production environment, assisting with troubleshooting and conducting trend analyses to minimize equipment downtime.
  • Oversee the governance of winding technology, ensuring adherence to quality documentation.
  • Engage with production teams to monitor and rectify process variations.
  • Manage the integration of new equipment into production, including financial justifications and tracking expenditures.
  • Create training materials for maintenance and operators, and conduct initial training sessions for production staff.
  • Document all project aspects using various management tools to ensure clarity and compliance.
  • Initiate process improvements aimed at reducing costs and enhancing product quality through engineering applications.
  • Support the transition of new technologies from development to production, ensuring repeatability and reliability.
  • Ensure all necessary production and maintenance documentation is completed accurately.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, applying DMAIC/Six Sigma methodologies as appropriate.
  • Deliver presentations to diverse audiences, from operational teams to executive leadership.

Travel Requirements:

Up to 25% domestic travel may be required.

Work Schedule:

Standard hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with potential off-hours support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include project management experience, knowledge of polymers and extrusion processes, Six Sigma Green Belt certification, and familiarity with control systems.
