Position: CNC Machining Specialist
Employment Type: Fulltime (Direct-Hire)
About the Role:
- Employ CAM programming techniques to create toolpaths for a variety of CNC machinery.
- Develop and refine CNC programs for effective machining operations.
- Work closely with engineers and setup machinists to guarantee precise part manufacturing.
- Identify and resolve issues in CNC programs as necessary.
- Maintain adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout CNC machining processes.
- Consistently seek ways to enhance programming methods to boost efficiency and productivity.
Candidate Qualifications:
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in metal machining, fixture design, and setup (advanced technical training in a related field is required for those with less than 10 years of experience).
- Expertise in programming for both 4 and 5 axis CNC Turning and Milling.
- 8+ years of experience in CAM programming (Fusion 360 preferred) with the capability to program and manufacture parts directly from engineering drawings and models.
- Experience in machining high-value components with tight tolerances.
- Extensive familiarity with Okuma, Fanuc, and various CNC controls.
- Ability to comprehend and interpret technical data and engineering drawings effectively.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage across multiple disciplines with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Willingness to undertake additional tasks as assigned by management, including non-production plant and administrative responsibilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, Hast-X, and Inconel.
- Background in Aerospace and Defense products and materials.
- Knowledge of outside processing techniques (heat treating, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.).
- Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts in proximity to critical hardware.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with rapidly evolving roles and responsibilities.
