Position: CNC Machining Specialist

About the Role:

  • Employ CAM programming techniques to create toolpaths for a variety of CNC machinery.
  • Develop and refine CNC programs for effective machining operations.
  • Work closely with engineers and setup machinists to guarantee precise part manufacturing.
  • Identify and resolve issues in CNC programs as necessary.
  • Maintain adherence to quality standards and specifications throughout CNC machining processes.
  • Consistently seek ways to enhance programming methods to boost efficiency and productivity.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in metal machining, fixture design, and setup (advanced technical training in a related field is required for those with less than 10 years of experience).
  • Expertise in programming for both 4 and 5 axis CNC Turning and Milling.
  • 8+ years of experience in CAM programming (Fusion 360 preferred) with the capability to program and manufacture parts directly from engineering drawings and models.
  • Experience in machining high-value components with tight tolerances.
  • Extensive familiarity with Okuma, Fanuc, and various CNC controls.
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret technical data and engineering drawings effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage across multiple disciplines with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Willingness to undertake additional tasks as assigned by management, including non-production plant and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with nickel-based stainless-steel alloys, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, Hast-X, and Inconel.
  • Background in Aerospace and Defense products and materials.
  • Knowledge of outside processing techniques (heat treating, plating, coating, EDM, grinding, etc.).
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts in proximity to critical hardware.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail in a fast-paced, dynamic team environment with rapidly evolving roles and responsibilities.
