Job Overview

The Guest Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring the hotel’s success by achieving performance goals related to front desk operations and assisting the Operations Manager. This position serves as the primary contact for guests, managing front desk technology and fostering positive guest relations during shifts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Uphold the promise of exceptional service in all guest interactions, adhering to the Sonesta G.U.E.S.T. standards.

• Check in guests, issue room keys, and provide comprehensive information about hotel amenities and room locations. Respond to phone inquiries promptly and courteously.

• Process all financial transactions accurately, including cash and credit card payments, while adhering to established protocols for posting charges, completing reports, and securing funds.

• Safeguard the security of cash, credit card transactions, and guest information.

• Manage guest reservations, including bookings, cancellations, and modifications, while maximizing revenue through upselling opportunities.

• Implement the seasonal reservation strategy as directed by hotel management regarding room types and pricing.

• Foster teamwork and quality service through effective communication and coordination with other shifts and departments.

• Ensure that guests receive the products and services offered by the hotel, complying with local regulations regarding alcohol sales.

• Address special guest requests and ensure the delivery of exceptional service.

• Manage guest safe-deposit boxes, including issuance and control.

• Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations concerning health, safety, and alcohol service.

• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.

• A minimum of one year of experience in the hotel industry or retail customer service is preferred.

• Experience in the extended stay sector is a plus.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Basic mathematical skills, including budgeting and profit/loss understanding, are preferred.

• Problem-solving, organizational, and training skills are beneficial.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Opera systems is preferred.

• Must obtain ServSafe certification.

• A valid driver’s license is required.

• Ability to perform physical tasks, including standing for extended periods and lifting items up to 50 pounds.

• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
