Position Overview:


Discover's Internal Audit Department (IAD) is dedicated to offering insightful perspectives, utilizing specialized expertise, and delivering a refreshing experience to all stakeholders.

We achieve these goals through technically proficient professionals who are collaborative, diligent, and highly motivated to consistently produce high-quality work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

IAD is recognized as a vital component of Discover's risk management framework and is esteemed by management as a trusted collaborator.


Conduct audit evaluations in a dynamic setting to provide insights to business partners and identify information technology, information security, and data management risks and control deficiencies.

Responsibilities:

Utilize operational and technical expertise to support departmental objectives.

Assigned to a schedule of evaluations where you will adhere to the audit methodology, engage with clients, create process flows and narratives, assess business processes, identify and evaluate controls, test key controls, develop findings, and communicate with clients to formulate and follow up on action plans.

Proactively manage and escalate risks and customer-impacting issues within your daily responsibilities to management.

Execution:

With minimal oversight from the Lead and Supervisor:
Complete assigned audits/audit tasks using departmental tools and in accordance with departmental guidelines, within established timelines and with high-quality outcomes. Discuss findings and solutions with clients and audit leads.

Develop comprehensive risk assessments and evaluate controls against best practices.

Continue to enhance skill sets by fulfilling required training and obtaining advanced degrees and/or certifications as per departmental guidelines.

Qualifications:

Essential:

Bachelor's degree in social sciences, engineering, business administration or management, accounting, finance, information technology, analytics, or a related field.

2+ years of experience in applied sciences, engineering, operations, accounting, finance, business, computer science, data science, or a related field.

Preferred:

Strong interpersonal skills.

Experience with relevant regulatory standards.

1+ years of experience in a leading public accounting or consulting firm, highly regulated environment, payment network, and related technology services, or a related field.

Certifications in Business, Six Sigma, Risk, STEM, or related fields.

Experience in financial services, banking, or public accounting is preferred.

Professional certification, such as CIA, CAMS, CPA, CISA, or other relevant certifications (can be in the process of achieving certification).

Compensation:


The base pay for this position generally ranges between $65,000.00 to $109,000.00. Additional incentives may be provided as part of a market-competitive total compensation package.

Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may influence the pay for this position.
