In this role, you will be responsible for driving the technology strategy and enhancing technical capabilities within an application ecosystem. Leverage your extensive knowledge of business processes and technical elements to design application architecture that harmonizes business and customer needs with critical technical aspects such as resilience, security, and efficiency. Work closely with application engineers to ensure that the ecosystem is developed in accordance with the architectural vision, continuously adapting to meet the changing needs of customers and the business. Proactively manage and escalate risks and customer-related challenges as part of your daily responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Senior Product Owner(s) to define product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the technology strategy
  • Independently oversee the design process for applications
  • Guide other architects in formulating product quality strategies, including nonfunctional requirements such as reliability, availability, and security
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of business processes and technical components
  • Educate others on solution design patterns
  • Lead internal technology communities, remaining engaged in understanding and exploring contemporary technologies and trends
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive design overview of the product portfolio
  • Design and document solutions that meet business requirements
  • Conduct feasibility assessments, compare products, map capabilities, and provide high-level estimations
  • Implement necessary architecture development processes as mandated by the organization

Minimum Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in Software Development, Software Engineering, Technical Architecture, or similar roles
  • For internal candidates only: must have a technical proficiency rating of proficient on the Dreyfus architecture scale

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Advantages:

  • Experience in designing, building, and deploying software applications on Kubernetes and cloud platforms
  • Experience with developing web applications using Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript frameworks, and full-stack web application development
  • Knowledge of API and application integration patterns
  • Familiarity with business process management technologies such as IBM BPM
  • Experience with microservice architecture, hexagonal architecture pattern, and domain-driven design
  • Background in payment networks and the banking sector
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities

External candidates will be required to undergo a technical interview.

Compensation:

The base salary for this position typically ranges from $148,000.00 to $204,000. Additional incentives may be included as part of a competitive total compensation package. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level can influence the salary for this role.
