Job Overview
The Financial Analyst is responsible for conducting quantitative assessments and reporting on financial data across the organization.

The analyst engages in various evaluations, including but not limited to cost/benefit assessments, long-term projections, cost trends, root cause evaluations, variance assessments, human capital evaluations, cost reduction strategies, profitability assessments, financial statement analysis, claims and premium evaluations, and other strategic planning initiatives.


Qualifications

EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related discipline.

EXPERIENCE
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in financial analysis. Alternatively, a relevant Master's degree with a minimum of three (3) years of experience.

Statistical knowledge is essential.

Responsibilities

Assists with financial reporting audits, collaborating with internal audits, regulatory bodies, independent auditors, and/or Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. May assist in special projects as directed. May be required to analyze and review financial statements for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Performs general accounting functions, including but not limited to preparation of journal entries, coding of invoices, accounting analysis, and reconciliation. Undertakes other duties as assigned. Prepares supporting financial data as required. Reconciles, confirms, and maintains general ledger accounts.
