About the Role

We are hiring a Biocomputing Platform Sales Executive to join our team. As a seasoned sales professional, you will prospect, engage, and close new customers, navigating the different solutions our platform offers for different stakeholders in organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing and new accounts in your region.
  • Manage multiple biopharma accounts in the US territory at various stages of the cycle from prospecting through to value delivery.
  • Develop and implement a strategic sales plan to achieve Watershed's goals and revenue targets in your region.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, key customers, and stakeholders in the industry.
  • Analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions and adjust the sales strategy as necessary.
  • Ensure that you are trained and equipped with the necessary tools to effectively sell the company's products and solutions.
  • Represent Watershed at industry events, conferences, and trade shows, and build a strong brand presence in the market.
  • Own the end-to-end process of tracking the sales funnel and operational metrics, providing regular updates to leadership.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and finance to become a performance enhancement partner and to synchronize key business functions.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in the Life Sciences or related field; MBA, MS or PhD is a plus.
  • Minimum of 3+ years of sales experience in the data platform or life sciences industry.
  • A demonstrated successful track record in pitching and completing deals with midcap customers.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client engagements, at all levels, to ensure delivery of value, and to expand use of a technology or service deeply and broadly throughout accounts.
  • Experience managing negotiations and communications on multiple contracts simultaneously or interfacing with highly matrixed multi-disciplinary teams to complete contract terms.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective sales strategies and adjust them as necessary in response to market changes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze sales data and market trends to inform decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with customers, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills, with the ability to deliver compelling sales presentations.
  • Ability to travel as necessary to meet with customers and attend industry events and trade shows.
  • Driven to be successful in a commercial and sales-oriented career.

Desirable Qualifications

  • MS/PhD or equivalent experience in a biotechnology or life sciences field. Bioinformatics/Computational Bio or similar experience preferred.
  • Deep knowledge of the data platform or biopharma life cycle - strong grasp of the tradeoffs and pain points faced by users at every stage.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative, with a high level of self-motivation and self-discipline.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
