About the Role

CAMBA is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Aide to join our team at The Kensington Family Shelter. As a Residential Aide, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily lives of our residents, helping them develop essential independent living skills and promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents in developing daily living skills through individual and group activities, including laundry, meal preparation, and personal hygiene.
  • Maintain inventory of food and dry goods, and provide residents with an orientation of the facility and services upon arrival.
  • Monitor residents' behavior and report any changes to the Supervisor or social services staff.
  • Ensure residents receive personal care products and laundry products weekly, and replace any personal care items as needed.
  • Perform tasks such as sorting, counting, and bagging bed linens, blankets, and towels, and distributing clean linens to residents.
  • Escort residents to appointments as needed, and prepare kitchen and dining facilities for mealtimes.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and/or equivalent experience.
  • Participate in Department of Health Food Protection 15 hour Course and become a certified Food Handler.
  • Obtain Annual PPD Test and may be required to become First Aid/CPR certified.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
