Our flagship initiative, Ready, Willing & Able, combines paid employment, vocational training, and holistic support services to assist individuals in reintegrating into society.

Position Overview
We are currently looking for a Housing Specialist to join our expanding team. This role will be based at our facility and will report directly to the Director of Discharge Planning, Housing & Recruitment.

Ideal Candidate Profile:


The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree and have a minimum of two to three years of experience in community-based residential management or a related field.

Experience in negotiating lease agreements with landlords or property management companies, as well as providing housing solutions for special needs populations, is essential.

Knowledge of relevant state and city housing regulations and disability laws is crucial. Additionally, proficiency in computer applications and a valid driver's license are required.


Key Responsibilities:


- Establish and maintain effective relationships with landlords and property management companies.

- Serve as a liaison with the DHS Housing Placement Unit.

- Ensure compliance with housing laws, building codes, and lease agreements by overseeing landlord and management company operations.

- Collaborate with Case Management to identify potential clients for housing opportunities.

- Address and resolve conflicts with landlords and management companies to meet client needs.

- Monitor and evaluate housing management relationships, ensuring adherence to fair housing standards.

- Develop and maintain a database of available housing options.

- Seek out new housing opportunities for clients through ongoing networking.

- Prepare and coordinate reports related to housing codes and compliance.

- Inform Case Management staff about apartment readiness and any issues clients may face in maintaining their residences.

- Manage a caseload of clients receiving external income and assist in preparing housing packages and necessary documentation.
