The Peel Compton Foundation is seeking a dedicated individual for the Landscape Maintenance Team

Location: Bentonville, Arkansas

The Peel Compton Foundation (PCF), a leading and expanding nonprofit organization, is looking for a skilled and enthusiastic person to become part of the Landscape Maintenance Team. PCF manages several properties, including the Peel Mansion & Heritage Gardens, Compton Gardens & Conference Center, Coler Mountain Bike Preserve, and Osage Park, all aimed at fostering community engagement through nature, education, recreation, and conservation.

Position Overview:

As a vital member of the landscape maintenance team, you will be actively involved in the daily operational tasks related to the upkeep of trails and facilities. This position is ideal for someone who excels in problem-solving and can work both independently and collaboratively. Responsibilities include ensuring that all facilities and trails are maintained to high standards. This encompasses sanitation of restrooms, litter and debris removal, trail upkeep, landscaping, and various other tasks. You will also deliver outstanding customer service to visitors and guests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and dispose of litter and pet waste from the grounds and waste stations.
  • Utilize hand tools commonly used in landscaping and trail maintenance, such as shovels, rakes, and trimmers.
  • Plant and care for flowers, shrubs, and trees as needed.
  • Operate powered equipment, including mowers, leaf blowers, chainsaws, and other maintenance tools.
  • Drive motorized vehicles, including manual and automatic transmission trucks and ATVs.
  • Perform janitorial services for all restrooms, ensuring cleanliness and restocking supplies.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the camping experience, including working weekends to assist campers and maintain property needs.
  • Assist with setup, takedown, and cleanup for special events.
  • Support various needs across PCF properties as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to pass a drug test and background check.
  • Strong desire to work outdoors.
  • Experience in facility maintenance.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Demonstrated integrity, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks throughout the day.
Work Schedule:
  • The Coler Mountain Bike Preserve operates year-round.
  • Staff will work rotating weekends and some holidays.
  • Hours may vary based on visitor traffic and seasonal requirements.
