About St. Vincent de Paul:
The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is committed to providing essential support such as food, clothing, and shelter to individuals and families in need. We also create meaningful volunteer opportunities to foster compassion and community service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain adequate supplies in the outreach vehicle for daily service locations.
- Conduct regular inspections of the outreach vehicle to ensure operational safety and maintenance.
- Coordinate with the Program Manager to establish daily outreach routes and coverage.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations during outreach activities.
Outreach and Engagement:
- Develop relationships with individuals experiencing homelessness to assess their needs and provide necessary resources.
- Connect clients with local services and resources, leveraging knowledge of community providers.
- Create a welcoming and respectful environment during outreach efforts.
- Share personal experiences when appropriate to foster trust and connection.
Data Management and Reporting:
- Collaborate with the Program Manager to track and document services provided.
- Utilize tracking tools to manage seasonal item requests for program distribution.
- Prepare and submit reports detailing program activities and outcomes.
- Accurately use the HMIS system to maintain current participant data.
- Conduct housing eligibility evaluations as needed.
Collaboration and Networking:
- Build partnerships with local shelters and service providers for effective client referrals.
- Represent the organization in interactions with community stakeholders.
- Engage with other service providers to explore new outreach opportunities.
- Participate in community meetings to promote outreach initiatives.
Volunteer Engagement:
- Utilize volunteer interactions to educate about the organization's mission and needs.
- Train volunteers in service preparation and distribution processes.
- Encourage volunteer participation and ensure they feel valued in their contributions.
Requirements:
Must possess a valid Arizona Driver's License with a clean driving record. A current Food Handler's Certification is necessary due to daily food service responsibilities. Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness is advantageous. Bilingual skills in Spanish are preferred. The ability to work independently and communicate effectively with various stakeholders is essential.
Physical Requirements:
This role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods, lift and carry items up to 75 pounds, and work in diverse environments.
