Position Overview: We are in search of a highly proficient and innovative Industrial Services Water and Wastewater Utility Engineer to spearhead our expanding Industrial Engineering Division. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in the development of water and wastewater systems tailored for large-scale manufacturing entities, each with distinct water supply requirements and waste streams. This role demands a proactive individual with the capability to explore and implement technology-driven solutions that adapt to evolving operational conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead multidisciplinary technical consulting engineering and construction teams.
  • Oversee the initiation and management of water and wastewater systems for industrial clients, particularly large corporations.
  • Design and execute technology-based solutions to handle diverse and unique waste streams.
  • Conduct research and due diligence on emerging technologies, emphasizing cost efficiency and adaptability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to devise flexible implementation strategies.
  • Manage the planning, design, and construction oversight of water and wastewater projects.
  • Ensure adherence to Arizona's water resources and regulatory standards.
  • Prepare and present comprehensive reports on design and construction management activities.
  • Monitor compliance with local, state, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Enhance water recycling processes to improve efficiency and sustainability.
  • Work alongside engineering and operations teams to implement system enhancements.
  • Analyze data and generate reports on water consumption, recycling rates, and system performance.
  • Engage with community stakeholders to advocate for water conservation and sustainability initiatives.
  • Review and evaluate consultant scopes of work and invoices, managing communications effectively.
  • Assess infrastructure requirements based on current demands and anticipated growth.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and value engineering for projects.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, chemistry, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) certification is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in water and wastewater management, particularly within the industrial sector.
  • Strong understanding of Arizona's water resources and regulatory frameworks.
  • Exceptional research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and take initiative in a dynamic environment.
  • Prior experience and knowledge to support and comprehend civil infrastructure construction.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in engineering related to water and wastewater infrastructure and utility projects.

Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of sitting; repetitive motions of hands and fingers; ability to focus on close and distant objects; navigate stairs and uneven terrain; manipulate small objects; ability to hear and recognize sounds; react swiftly using hands, fingers, or feet; utilize personal protective equipment as necessary for safety. The role may require lifting and/or moving up to thirty pounds. Work is conducted in both office and outdoor settings, where exposure to noise from construction equipment and inclement weather may occur.
