Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Management and Compliance
    • Develop and implement the Division Outreach and Community Engagement Plan (OCEP) and Training Plan, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and funder requirements.
    • Collaborate with program supervisors to meet the needs of each program's OCEP and training requirements, and regularly communicate program performance and related issues to the Associate Director.
    • Acquire and demonstrate a working knowledge of all funder requirements related to outreach and training for the programmatic areas.
    • Ensure all services provided are culturally relevant and linguistically appropriate to the population served.
  • Community Engagement
    • Develop and implement strategies to increase community awareness through networking and attendance at community events.
    • Support the implementation of the Division's social media campaign.
    • Oversee and support the implementation of foster-focused family events.
    • Co-facilitate Program Parent Advisory Councils and the Child Abuse Prevention Council.
  • Training and Development
    • Develop, facilitate, and support the ongoing certification training for CPR/First Aid for staff and clients.
    • Develop, facilitate, and support the ongoing need for kinship families to complete Foster Care College.
    • Develop, facilitate, and support Protective Factors and ACES training for staff, PAC, and CAP members.
  • General Management
    • Conduct all activities with a commitment to the organization's mission and strategic plan, focusing efforts to inspire a client-centered approach to quality service delivery and operational excellence.
    • Provide excellent customer service and exhibit respectful, professional conduct in all communications.
    • Participate in the development of goals and objectives, as well as policies and procedures, and make recommendations for changes and improvements.
  • Administrative/Supervision
    • Recruit and train staff, ensuring that all staff is properly onboarded and welcomed.
    • Create a positive, safe, and productive work environment for all staff.
    • Ensure completion of HR reporting, performance reviews, and other paperwork on a timely basis.
    • Maintain open and direct communications with all staff, ensuring that staff issues and concerns are properly and promptly resolved.
  • Professional Development
    • Acquire a working knowledge of all aspects of the Division, including Adoption/Foster Care Licensing, Kinship Caregivers Programs and Services, and other related areas.
    • Maintain current status for professional credentials and present a professional attitude and wear professional attire at all times.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in education, adult education, social services, family support, social work, or a closely related field, and two years of relevant work experience.
  • 2 years of adult education or training experience.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Current CPR, First Aid certification.
  • Provide and maintain a current Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card, clear the Department of Economic Security Central Registry Background Check, and a criminal background and motor vehicle screening.
  • Clean drug testing records, including pre-employment drug testing results and random annual drug testing results.

  • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Outlook and Microsoft Office Programs.
  • Excellent interviewing, perceptual, diagnostic, and family assessment skills.
  • Ability to relate well with families of varied lifestyles, backgrounds, and ethnicities.
  • Experience in cultural diversity.
  • Ability to assess family's strengths and weaknesses.
  • Experience in mediation and other interventions.
  • Ability to recognize signs of abuse/neglect in the foster homes.
  • Knowledge of and experience working with ADCS and DDD families, children, youth, and caregivers.
  • Ability to participate as a member of a team, including collaboration, cross-training, and mutual assistance.
  • Ability to work independently with high initiative.
Language Skills

Ability to communicate clearly, listen and perceive need, work with people from diverse backgrounds non-judgmentally, and effectively present and represent LSS-SW and the program's needs to religious and community groups, as well as others in the social services community. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Reasoning Abilities

Ability to define problems, collect data, evaluate information, draw conclusions, and take appropriate action based on this information. Ability and confidence to make decisions and solicit guidance from Manager.
