Job Overview

Position Summary

The Kitchen Support Staff plays a crucial role in ensuring that workstations are kept clean and organized, while also managing the stocking of plates for both the expo line and various kitchen prep areas, including pantry and grill stations. This role demands strict adherence to the policies and procedures as outlined in the Biltmore Standard Operating Procedures (BSOP's).

Key Responsibilities

  • Possess thorough knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service procedures, and standards.
  • Understand the correct maintenance and usage of kitchen equipment, utilizing it solely for its intended purpose.
  • Proactively anticipate guests' needs, responding promptly and acknowledging all guests, regardless of the time of day.
  • Maintain positive relations with guests at all times.
  • Address and resolve guest complaints to ensure satisfaction.
  • Monitor and uphold cleanliness, sanitation, and organization within assigned work areas.
  • Verify the accuracy of tickets received at the expo line.
  • Organize orders to ensure all items are ready when the order is prepared.
  • Deliver all ordered items to tables while respecting proper positioning and guest preferences.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all items. Check supply levels and report any shortages to the Supervisor.
  • Keep the workstation clean and organized, ensuring all necessary items are prepared and stocked.
  • Stock plates for the expo line and all kitchen prep areas, including pantry and grill stations.
  • Store items appropriately in coolers or pantry storage areas.
  • Clean and prepare necessary equipment.
  • Provide silverware and condiments for poolside orders.
  • Complete daily par level requests and conduct monthly inventory checks.
  • Greet and acknowledge guests.
  • Ensure guest safety and enforce pool rules in accordance with departmental standards.
  • Utilize first aid when necessary.
  • Report any unauthorized individuals in pool areas to the supervisor.
  • Complete closing duties and return all equipment and supplies to their designated areas.
  • Restock items for the next shift and secure storage areas.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma is required.
  • Experience: No prior experience is necessary.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Capability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or an entire work shift.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to use and operate necessary office equipment with finger dexterity.
  • Effective communication with employees, managers, subordinates, and guests through verbal communication, hearing, and visual acuity.
  • Ability to visually focus on a computer for extended periods.
  • Adaptability to moderate temperatures as controlled by hotel environmental systems.
