POSITION TITLE: Mechanical Project Engineer
REPORTS TO: Lead Mechanical Project Engineer

Key Responsibilities:
This role entails overseeing all mechanical and structural design tasks essential for the modification and enhancement of electric overhead cranes within the Americas region.
- Manage the Product Lines - Legacy EOT and Portal Cranes.
- Analyze order documentation, including detailed customer specifications, to define the project scope and plan.
- Utilize company archives to locate records of legacy equipment, demonstrating proficiency in interpreting mechanical and structural drawings.
- Execute engineering tasks following established protocols, creating equipment layouts and performing necessary mechanical and structural calculations to validate designs.
- Develop detailed drawings for components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, and installations to meet order requirements.
- Draft comprehensive work instructions to facilitate field installation.
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, design execution, and adherence to budget and timeline from inquiry to start-up.
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 5 years in the overhead electric crane industry or similar industrial equipment is preferred. A Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one is advantageous. The ideal candidate should possess a strong understanding of machine design and structural engineering principles, with experience in the overhead material handling sector being highly desirable. Familiarity with industry standards such as CMAA and ASME B30 is a plus, along with knowledge of welding and machining processes.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills are crucial for this position. Proficiency in SAP, AutoCAD, Solidworks, and Microsoft Office is required. The ability to effectively communicate with frontline sales, customers, application engineers, and project management is essential. Site visits for application and commissioning will necessitate the ability to work at heights of up to 100 feet. Travel, estimated at 5%, will involve meeting with customers, commissioning equipment, and inspecting products at various manufacturing sites, both domestically and internationally.
