PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This role involves engineering modernizations for crane control systems, focusing on all electrical design tasks, hardware selection, program development, and implementation of control systems for electric overhead and portal cranes across the Americas region.
Expertise in Product Lines including Legacy, EOT, and Portal Cranes.Design, testing, and commissioning of crane control systems.Execute engineering tasks following established protocols, including component selection, schematic design, system layout, automation control programming, and documentation.Create system architecture and automation network diagrams.Oversee project planning, scheduling, design execution, and budget adherence from inquiry to start-up.Conduct testing and troubleshooting of control systems.EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering is required.EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 2 years in a role as an Electrical or Automation Engineer, preferably with experience in motion and motor control products. Familiarity with designing and troubleshooting motor control circuits using electromagnetic devices and variable frequency drives (VFDs) is preferred. Knowledge of PLC programming software is advantageous but not mandatory. Candidates must be adept at interpreting electrical schematics and vendor application drawings.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Strong understanding of electrical systems, motor control circuits, and analog-digital input/output is preferred. Proficiency in various software applications, operating systems, and control equipment is essential. Familiarity with SAP, AutoCAD, E3, and Microsoft Office is required. The ability to communicate effectively with sales teams, customers, production planning, and project management is crucial. Site visits for application and commissioning will require the ability to work at heights up to 100 feet. Estimated travel is around 15% for customer meetings, equipment commissioning, and product testing at our manufacturing facility.
Hybrid schedule - Option to work one day from home or every other Friday off if working 9 hours per day.
