Position Summary:
This role is accountable for overseeing Human Resources functions within the Adult Rehabilitation Center (ARC). This includes the creation, execution, and management of employee training initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the proper maintenance of ARC documentation, including medical, personnel, terminated, applicant, and driver files, in compliance with organizational policies and legal standards.
  • Conduct data entry in the ADP system to accurately record new employee information, demographic updates, benefit enrollments, and other necessary transactions, ensuring the integrity of the database.
  • Collaborate with the Command HR Department to submit reports and secure Finance Board authorization for new hires, status changes, and terminations.
  • Investigate and document incidents related to injuries, accidents, OSHA compliance, harassment, or other grievances, maintaining communication with relevant parties.
  • Engage in Safety Committee meetings and initiatives, supporting the ARC's safety programs through the development of training plans and curricula that meet established requirements.
  • Facilitate employee benefits coordination, assisting staff with registration, claims, and inquiries to guarantee timely enrollment in benefits.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Administrator and management regarding personnel issues, including recruitment, retention, development, and organizational structure.
  • Maintain precise payroll records utilizing the HRIS provided by The Salvation Army, ensuring compliance with company policies and coordinating with supervisors to ensure accurate timesheet submissions.
  • Deliver HR training for management and supervisory personnel regularly to enhance leadership skills and ensure adherence to policies. Assist in the orientation of new employees.
  • Oversee the Safe From Harm program, including training, reporting, audits, and inspections, ensuring compliance with program standards.
  • In collaboration with the Center accounting team, may assist with certain aspects of the payroll process.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.
  • Uphold the mission statement of The Salvation Army and the objectives of the Adult Rehabilitation Center.

Hourly Rate: $20

Minimum Qualifications:
The following qualifications are representative of the minimum education, experience, certifications, skills, and/or abilities required for this position.
Education and Experience:
Associate degree with two years of experience in HR Management or Business Management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in office management and supervision is preferred. Familiarity with workers' compensation and OSHA regulations is advantageous.
Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business correspondence, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Proficient in writing reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals.
  • Capable of effectively presenting information and responding to inquiries from groups of managers, administration, and employees in both written and verbal formats.
  • Adept at solving practical problems and addressing a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret a range of instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Competent in applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel, is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ADP timekeeping software is a plus.
