Position Overview:

The Fund Accountant is responsible for various accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance in financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Journal Entries (40%):

  • Prepare and reconcile all prepaid expenses quarterly.
  • Process and reconcile monthly allocations for ASR, Grad overhead, bad debt, and unemployment.
  • Execute quarterly elimination entries for internal revenues and expenses.
  • Record Accounts Receivable for beverage analytics.
  • Review and process expense transfers for Auxiliary and Agency funds.
  • Handle ad-hoc journal entries as required.
  • Record quarterly census entries and manage payment coordination.
  • Document health insurance capitation entries.
  • Manage negative Accounts Receivable and unapplied payments quarterly.

Auxiliary Fund Management (10%):

  • Monthly reconciliation of ASR, Grad overhead, bad debt, and unemployment allocations.
  • Identify and rectify missing auxiliary worktags for accurate allocations.

Agency Fund Management (10%):

  • Review Agency balances through internal analytical reports, providing necessary analysis and coordinating with departments for required actions.
  • Reconcile travel abroad auxiliaries and supply cashiers with refund details.

Accounts Receivable (30%):

  • Invoice all non-student Accounts Receivable.
  • Track and document all non-student Accounts Receivable invoices and payments.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliations for beverage analytics and other non-student Accounts Receivable.
  • Reconcile and record transactions for the bookstore account.
  • Identify payments in the deferred revenue ledger for reconciliation.

Accounts Payable/Receivable (5%):

  • Submit collection claims related to non-student and payroll accounts.
  • Calculate and process payment requests and related journal entries for inter-agency partners.

Backup Responsibilities (5%):

  • Serve as a backup to the System Accountant.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for interaction with internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Minimum of 1 year of accounting experience.

Preferred:

  • Experience with Workday ERP.
  • Background in Higher Education.
  • Enthusiasm for leveraging technology to enhance processes.
  • Experience with reconciliations.

Schedule Information:
Full-time, 40 hours per week
Non-Exempt
Days: Monday - Friday
Evenings and Weekend Work: As needed
Schedule: In-person training followed by a hybrid work arrangement
Travel: Rarely

Salary Range:
The expected salary range for this position is $55,000 - $67,000, considering various factors such as experience, skills, and education.
