Lead Accountant for Private Equity Funds

Gen II Fund Services, a prominent firm in the realm of private equity fund administration, is seeking a Private Equity Accounting Supervisor to lead the accounting operations for private equity funds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with senior management to oversee daily fund operations.
  • Independently manage the accounting and operations of existing funds.
  • Interface effectively with clients and manage business relationships with minimal oversight.
  • Analyze Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and other governing documents to extract key economic data and prepare comprehensive summaries.
  • Supervise a small team of accountants as required.
  • Guide the initial setup of client fund deliverables, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, waterfalls, and IRRs, ensuring thorough reviews prior to management sign-off.
  • Conduct multiple levels of review and analysis of financial reports, capital events, and complex private equity transactions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a preference for CPA certification.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in private equity fund accounting and reporting.
  • Proven ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge to client situations, providing effective solutions.
  • Adaptability to changing processes in a dynamic environment.
  • Strong understanding of Investment Company Accounting (ASC 946), fund structures, and investor classifications.
  • Familiarity with US GAAP (ASC 946) and IFRS reporting standards.
  • Experience with governing documents, including LPAs and management agreements.
  • Hands-on experience in accounting and auditing private equity funds and related vehicles.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The compensation for this role ranges from $90,000 to $130,000, complemented by a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package. The actual salary offered will be based on the candidate's experience level.

Work Arrangement: All candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. The position requires a hybrid work schedule, with a combination of in-office and remote work.
