What We Provide

We offer a competitive salary based on your education and experience, with an anticipated hiring range of $20.26 to $25.33. Our generous benefits package for full-time employees includes:

Work Environment

We utilize a hybrid work model that balances public service responsibilities with the flexibility of remote work. Employees are expected to work on-site for three days a week and telecommute for the remaining days from a designated location within the State of Colorado.

The Financial Services Division (FSD) is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of Financial Records Specialist. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders within the Financial Services Division and other departments to deliver outstanding customer service to both internal and external clients.

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:
  • Imprest Check Management: Verifying documentation for Imprest check requests for accuracy and completeness, issuing emergency funds in compliance with financial regulations, and preparing reimbursement requests for all issued checks.
  • Secure Inventory Oversight: Ensuring that all financial transactions and inventory within the Financial Services office are securely managed and accounted for in accordance with fiscal regulations.
  • Procedure Development: Assisting in the creation and maintenance of written procedures and internal audit documentation related to the Imprest payment process.
  • Invoice Review: Analyzing a high volume of invoices to confirm accuracy in accordance with contracted rates and service dates.
  • Discrepancy Resolution: Identifying and resolving billing discrepancies efficiently and independently.
  • Data Utilization: Leveraging various data sources to assist in the review and tracking of work products.
  • Process Improvement: Identifying opportunities for process enhancements and providing recommendations.
  • Support and Training: Assisting the Payment Services team supervisor and other managers with ad hoc reports, data requests, and training of staff on these functions.
Candidate Profile

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in an office setting, preferably in finance
  • Knowledge of accounts payable processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Background in Human Services or government agencies
  • Comfortable with technology and learning new software
  • Ability to work independently under tight deadlines
  • Adaptability to changing priorities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
  • A positive and enthusiastic demeanor
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or GED
  • Experience: Three (3) years in financial recordkeeping, accounting reconciliation, and journal/ledger entries
  • Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional relevant education may substitute for experience requirements.
