Denver, Colorado, United States Community Economic Defense Project Full time
Job Overview

Salary: $65,000

About the Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) & CED Law

Our Mission

We collaborate with economically disadvantaged individuals to foster economic and racial equity. Our approach involves addressing economic injustices and investing in community resources. We employ a diverse array of legal, economic, and advocacy strategies to challenge and dismantle inequitable systems, striving for a future where everyone has the means to thrive.

About Our Organization

The Community Economic Defense Project (CEDP) is a nonprofit organization based in Colorado. Established in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, our organization was created to prevent housing instability. By working directly with clients, we developed a comprehensive approach to eviction, foreclosure, and homelessness prevention that prioritizes the legal and financial needs of vulnerable families.

Currently, our team assists over 1,000 individuals each month, integrating the expertise of housing attorneys, economists, data analysts, policy specialists, organizers, and technology experts to provide essential services. Over the past two years, we have allocated more than $100 million in assistance and supported over 40,000 residents of Colorado. Our model has received recognition as a best practice from various reputable organizations.

In addition to our eviction prevention efforts, CEDP has broadened its service offerings to include disaster response, predatory towing, debt collection, benefit access and navigation, long-term rental assistance, and homelessness solutions. These initiatives provide a comprehensive support system that includes advisory services, targeted financial assistance, legal support, and advocacy opportunities.
