Position Overview:

The Finance Specialist role is integral to the Addiction Research and Treatment Services (ARTS) program, which operates under the Division of Addiction Science, Prevention and Treatment within the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Colorado. This program manages an annual budget of approximately $12 million and serves around 2,500 clients through various treatment facilities in the Denver area.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Finance Specialist, you will be responsible for a range of clerical and financial tasks, including:
  1. Maintaining accurate financial records and reporting.
  2. Overseeing transactions related to departmental functions such as salary allocations and procurement.
  3. Managing accounts receivable and supporting grant post-award reporting.
  4. Ensuring compliance with Federal and University policies regarding fiscal management.
  5. Assisting in the preparation of fiscal reports, including revenue and expense tracking.
  6. Monitoring program and contract budgets, and preparing reports for funding agencies.
  7. Coordinating the management of ARTS resources within the University system.
  8. Maintaining internal tracking systems for grants and contracts.
  9. Processing journal entries and payroll expense transfers.
  10. Conducting routine audits of financial transactions.

Work Environment:

This position offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing for flexibility in work location while fulfilling the responsibilities of the role.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or a related field. Experience requirements vary by level:
  • Entry Level: No prior experience required.
  • Intermediate Level: One year of relevant professional experience.
  • Senior Level: Two years of relevant professional experience.

All candidates must meet the minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
