Gen II Fund Services, a prominent player in the private equity fund administration sector, is seeking a Private Equity Accounting Supervisor to manage the accounting functions for private equity funds.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate closely with senior management to oversee daily fund operations.
- Independently manage the accounting and operations of existing funds.
- Engage with clients and business partners with minimal supervision.
- Interpret Limited Partnership Agreements (LPAs) and other governing documents, summarizing key economic terms with limited oversight.
- Supervise a small team of accountants as needed.
- Guide the initial setup of client fund deliverables, including capital calls, distributions, financial statements, waterfalls, and IRRs, ensuring thorough reviews before final sign-off.
- Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of financial reports, capital events, and complex private equity transactions.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with a preference for CPA certification.
- A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in private equity fund accounting and reporting.
- Quick learner with the ability to apply knowledge to client situations and propose effective solutions.
- Adaptable to evolving processes in a dynamic environment.
- Strong understanding of Investment Company Accounting (ASC 946), fund structures, and investor classifications.
- Proficient in US GAAP (ASC 946) and IFRS reporting standards.
- Familiarity with governing documents such as LPAs and management agreements.
- Hands-on experience with accounting and auditing of private equity funds and related entities.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines effectively.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
