Position Overview

We are in search of a dedicated individual to take on the role of Community Ambassador across various TechTown Detroit facilities, including the Center for Non-Profit Support and the Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center (I2C). This position is pivotal in embodying and promoting the TechTown ethos, ensuring that every guest and tenant has a remarkable experience while maintaining a professional and positive demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome all visitors to our facilities with warmth and professionalism, providing accurate information and exceptional service to create a respectful environment.
  • Handle front desk operations, including answering phone calls, taking messages, and directing visitors while adhering to safety and security protocols.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of frequently asked questions to effectively manage inquiries about our programs and services, and coordinate facility tours when necessary.
  • Stay informed about all facility events and programs, assisting in their coordination and ensuring proper staffing for setup and breakdown.
  • Maintain a tidy reception area, fostering professional relationships with staff, visitors, and the community.
  • Address tenant and visitor inquiries promptly, including room reservations and maintenance requests, collaborating with the team to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Support management in administrative tasks related to conference room bookings, invoicing, and payment processing.
  • Assist with parking tags, building access requests, and the onboarding process for tenants.
  • Be flexible to work weekends and overtime as needed, and travel to various TechTown locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest or experience in small business development, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit sectors.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $20 per hour, with adjustments based on qualifications and experience. TechTown offers comprehensive health and dental plans, vision and life insurance, short-term disability, a 401(k) plan, and a team member assistance program. Full-time employees enjoy:
