Position Overview
We are looking for a qualified individual to take on the role of Community Ambassador at TechTown Detroit, which encompasses various facilities including The Center for Non-Profit Support and The Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center (I2C). This position is pivotal in embodying and promoting the TechTown ethos across our locations, ensuring that all guests and tenants receive an outstanding experience characterized by professionalism and positivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome all visitors to our facilities with warmth and professionalism, providing accurate information and exceptional service to create a respectful environment.
- Manage front desk operations, including answering calls, taking messages, and directing visitors while adhering to safety and security protocols.
- Develop a thorough understanding of frequently asked questions to effectively address inquiries regarding our programs, services, and events.
- Assist in the coordination of events and programs, ensuring all logistical needs are met, and maintain accurate records of attendance and feedback.
- Maintain the front desk area in an organized manner, ensuring all materials are up-to-date and accessible.
- Respond promptly to tenant and visitor inquiries, addressing concerns and collaborating with team members to resolve issues effectively.
- Support management with administrative tasks related to facility usage, including booking and confirming reservations, and managing invoicing processes.
- Provide assistance with parking, building access requests, and onboarding processes for new tenants.
- Be flexible to work on weekends and overtime as needed, and travel to various TechTown locations.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in customer service.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Interest or experience in small business development, entrepreneurship, and nonprofit sectors.
Compensation and Benefits
The starting salary for this position is $20 per hour, subject to adjustment based on qualifications and experience.
