Position Overview

We are looking for a qualified individual to take on the role of Community Ambassador at TechTown Detroit, which encompasses various facilities including The Center for Non-Profit Support and The Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center (I2C). This position is pivotal in promoting the TechTown ethos across our locations, ensuring that guests and tenants enjoy an exceptional experience while upholding a positive and professional demeanor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and assist all visitors to our facilities, providing accurate information and outstanding customer service to create a respectful and inviting atmosphere.
  • Handle front desk operations, including answering phone calls, managing messages, and directing visitors while adhering to safety and security protocols.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of frequently asked questions to effectively address inquiries regarding our programs, services, and activities.
  • Support event coordination by maintaining knowledge of facility programs and assisting with setup and breakdown for events, ensuring accurate attendance records and feedback collection.
  • Maintain a tidy and organized front desk area, while fostering professional relationships with all staff and community members.
  • Respond promptly to tenant and visitor inquiries, addressing concerns and needs while collaborating with facility teams to resolve issues.
  • Assist management with administrative tasks related to conference room bookings, including reservation confirmations and payment processing.
  • Provide support for parking access, mail distribution, and onboarding processes for tenants.
  • Be flexible with work hours, including weekends and potential overtime, and be willing to travel to various TechTown locations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong customer service skills with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Interest or experience in small business development, entrepreneurship, innovation, and nonprofit sectors.

Compensation and Benefits

The starting salary for this position is $20 per hour, with adjustments based on qualifications and experience.
