About Immigrant Food+
">We are a vibrant restaurant in Washington, DC looking for a talented and dedicated Sous Chef to join our team. Our menu is designed by award-winning chefs Enrique Limardo and Mile Montezuma.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen, assisting the Executive Chef/Chef in developing new menus, and ensuring high standards are maintained.
">Main Responsibilities:
">- Oversee the preparation and execution of menu items
- Collaborate with the Chef team to plan and create menus
- Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Optimize resource allocation and control costs
- Organize and execute catering events
- Work with the marketing and culinary teams to introduce new culinary initiatives
- Produce high-quality dishes that meet customer expectations
- Ensure the kitchen operates efficiently and effectively
Requirements:
">- Experience working as a sous chef or chef
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, safety procedures, and best practices
- Effective leadership and communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks efficiently
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
- Desirable: experience with catering and event planning
- Estimated salary: $70,000 - $90,000 annually
