Michelin-Starred Sous Chef Opportunity

Rooster & Owl, a Michelin-starred New American concept, is seeking an experienced sous chef/executive sous to join its management team. As part of Restaurants by Yuan and Carey Tang, we have been awarded the prestigious One Michelin Star in 2021 and have received numerous accolades including #2 on Washington Post Dining Guide and Semi-Finalist from James Beard for Best New Restaurant.
We attribute our success to our strong team dynamic and are looking to add another member who shares our passion for seasonal cuisine and commitment to excellence. If you have at least two to three years of experience at a reputable restaurant, preferably critically acclaimed or Michelin-starred, we encourage you to apply.
What We're Looking For:
- An experienced sous chef/executive sous with a passion for seasonal cuisine and a vision that will complement our culinary style
- A strong sense of urgency and ability to work well under pressure
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a small team dynamic
- A desire to learn and improve on the craft, with a willingness to take creative input on menu development
What We Offer:
- Dinner service only Tuesday through Saturday, with Sunday and Monday off each week
- No lunch or brunch shifts, providing a healthy work-life balance
- A competitive wage and reasonable work hours (averaging 50-55 hours per week)
