We are in search of a Senior Housing Intake Coordinator who will oversee and manage intake operations, which encompass selections from the statewide waiting list, applicant screenings, eligibility assessments, and the issuance of vouchers and certificates for various housing programs. Additional duties include ensuring program integrity and quality assurance for all applicant documentation. This role will also involve training and supervising intake personnel, supporting the objectives of the Rental Assistance program through the provision of professional and knowledgeable services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise Intake Staff responsible for eligibility determination and selection processes.
  • Facilitate program orientation and ongoing compliance training for Intake staff, ensuring they remain informed on policies and procedures.
  • Ensure that intake staff meet performance standards established by relevant authorities in collaboration with the Director of Admission and Leasing.
  • Work with housing providers to assist applicants on maintained waitlists in securing affordable housing.
  • Interpret and apply regulations, policies, and procedures from HUD/DHCD/CTI, educating program participants and the public on these matters.
  • Monitor and track the status of vouchers for Section 8 and Special Program applicants.
  • Maintain a foundational understanding of housing inspection requirements and procedures.
  • Track and analyze intake trends for reporting and proactive measures.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Relevant prior experience is essential
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team to achieve agency and program goals
  • Capability to inspire and promote the professional growth of staff
  • Commitment to working with low-income, culturally diverse, and vulnerable populations
  • Strong customer service, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Windows software and adaptability to new software and data collection systems
  • Experience in administering rental subsidy programs and familiarity with social service providers
  • Bi-lingual skills (English/Spanish) are preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and operate within program regulations
  • Must successfully pass a Background Record Check, including fingerprinting
  • Completion of Rental Assistance specific training/certifications within one year of hire is required
  • Knowledge of federal and state regulations regarding rental assistance programs
