Role Overview:

As a Financial Data Analyst, you will play a crucial role in managing significant projects alongside a dedicated and talented team, while working with extensive datasets.

Your responsibilities will include integrating data from diverse sources, transforming it for actionable insights, and collaborating with various departments to ensure they have the necessary information for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of the business landscape and foster strong relationships across departments to leverage data for optimal decision-making.
  • Lead a team to effectively address complex data challenges while mentoring and developing team members.
  • Establish and maintain scalable data infrastructure, ensuring seamless access to insights for teams.
  • Extract, prepare, and ingest data from multiple sources, implementing ETL processes for efficient data accessibility.
  • Document and understand the underlying data from various origins.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams and external partners to ensure efficient data management and transformation.
  • Oversee self-service tools that empower end users to explore data independently.
  • Work closely with merchandising, marketing, finance, product, and operations teams to identify their data needs, provide insights through reports and dashboards, and make strategic recommendations.
  • Manage a ticketing system for end-user requests, prioritizing and assigning tasks to your team.
  • Collaborate with teams to automate data-driven actions and engineer innovative solutions for data integration.
  • Ensure compliance with data regulations, including GDPR and CCPA.
Qualifications:
  • Proven analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret large datasets.
  • Experience with Looker or similar data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) is essential.
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and processes.
  • Proficient in data processing, cleansing, and ensuring data integrity; technical knowledge of data models and database design is required.
  • Attention to detail and comfort with editing production data.
  • Knowledge of statistical models; experience with R or Python is advantageous.
  • Experience with tools such as Matillion, PHP, JavaScript, and AWS is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Experience in leadership and mentoring roles.
  • Strong query writing skills and extensive knowledge of MySQL are mandatory.
  • A degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, or Statistics is preferred.
