Guest Services Representative

Position Overview:
As a Guest Services Representative, you will embody a customer-centric approach, dedicated to showcasing the hotel with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a polished demeanor to all guests, clients, and the community. You will be a proactive and diligent team member responsible for managing the front office operations in a vibrant work environment. The Guest Services Representative aims for excellence and is expected to uphold the principles of outstanding customer service, organization, and effective task execution through meticulous record keeping, telephone management, guest interactions, and related responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the front office and lobby areas are organized and well-stocked to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide friendly and courteous telephone service and engage positively with guests and colleagues.
- Coordinate with guests before their arrival and throughout their stay, handling reservations, wake-up calls, check-ins, check-outs, and special requests.
- Safeguard the security and privacy of guest accommodations and administrative keys.
- Maintain open communication with management and staff through regular reports, guest feedback, and addressing guest needs.
- Conduct property inspections to ensure safety and guide tours for potential clients.
- Manage incoming and outgoing guest and hotel correspondence, packages, and communications.
- Enhance revenue through effective sales strategies and exceptional customer service.
- Develop a thorough understanding of rates, features, amenities, and local attractions to assist clients and maintain a competitive edge.
- Uphold the confidentiality of all company information, including performance metrics, client agreements, and financial data.
- Adhere to all hotel policies and procedures while executing tasks, ensuring excellent customer service and operational efficiency.
- Contribute to the safety of the property through risk management practices, regular inspections, participation in safety committees, and knowledge of emergency protocols.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Starting pay is $17.50 per hour.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a hospitality-related role.
The essential physical requirements for this role include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 pounds regularly to assist guests.
- Capability to stand for extended periods.
- Effective communication skills to interact with staff, vendors, and guests in person and over the phone.
- Ability to bend, twist, push, pull, stoop, and kneel as needed.
- Capability to ascend and descend ladders.
