Overview:

The Center for Disability Services Foundation is dedicated to providing hope, innovation, and achievement to individuals with disabilities. With a legacy spanning over 80 years, we are one of the largest providers of specialized programs and services in upstate New York, offering unique and essential support that is often unavailable elsewhere.

We are currently seeking Educational Support Specialists to join our dedicated team. The role involves working in diverse educational settings, including classrooms for students with Autism, as well as those who are visually and hearing impaired. Successful candidates will be part of the Langan School, a private, non-profit institution catering to students aged 5 to 21 with severe disabilities. This position is structured as a 10-month program, complemented by a mandatory six-week summer initiative.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist educators in implementing activities tailored to meet the individual needs of students as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Prepare classroom materials, provide direct instruction, and offer custodial care to students as required.

Qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required; college credits are preferred.
  • Candidates must obtain NYS Teaching Assistant Certification.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years old.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds is essential.

Compensation: The salary range for this position is between $18.06 and $21.25 per hour, based on experience.
