Role ResponsibilitiesThe Academic Interventionist plays a crucial role in providing targeted support to students through tutoring, coaching, and academic management aimed at achieving significant improvements in their academic performance.
Instructional Support- Design personalized lesson plans tailored to the unique learning requirements of each student, ensuring that interventions are engaging and facilitate knowledge retention through diverse learning modalities.
- Utilize data-driven strategies to enhance student engagement and track progress within KIPP's blended learning framework.
- Deliver consistent feedback to students regarding their academic and character development.
- Encourage collaborative learning experiences that empower students to develop skills as part of a team.
- Conduct small-group tutoring sessions focused on bridging gaps in understanding.
- Exhibit strong pedagogical skills and a genuine commitment to the academic success of students.
- Gather and maintain student data on academic progress and other key performance indicators, ensuring thorough documentation of all required records.
- Organize daily, weekly, and monthly tasks to meet essential deadlines in accordance with established protocols.
- Communicate student progress effectively with core-content educators.
- Collaborate with school staff and contribute to a positive school culture that meets the needs of students, teachers, and families.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and maintain open communication with colleagues.
- Build strong relationships with students to foster a supportive learning environment.
- Promote and uphold the school's values and student management policies.
- Maintain effective communication with parents regarding student progress.
- Be present at school events, including open houses and parent-teacher conferences.
- Be accessible to students, parents, and staff members for support.
- Set and pursue challenging professional goals annually.
- Be open to feedback and support from colleagues to foster a collaborative work environment.
- Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities throughout the academic year.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution is required.
- Valid teaching licensure or willingness to obtain certification is required.
- Prior experience in an educational setting, particularly in charter or public schools, is preferred.
- Experience working in urban educational environments is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Demonstrated initiative and effective communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a flexible work schedule.
