The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast is dedicated to delivering exceptional out-of-school experiences that empower our youth, particularly those in need, to successfully graduate from high school with a clear vision for their future, embody strong character and citizenship, and maintain a healthy lifestyle.

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a Youth Engagement Coordinator, you will work under the guidance of the Club Director to design, execute, and oversee activities that align with our three core objectives: Academic Achievement, Character Development, and Health Promotion. You will facilitate engaging activities for school-aged children, including arts and crafts, sports, games, and field trips, while serving as a positive role model. Comprehensive training will be provided to support your success and career advancement opportunities. GREAT FUTURES START HERE.

WORK SCHEDULE:

Morning shifts: 7:00 AM - 11:00 AM

Afternoon shifts: 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM or 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage youth in enjoyable activities and projects.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to young people and an understanding of the challenges they face.
  • Foster self-confidence and self-awareness in youth while building supportive relationships.
  • Provide structure and serve as a positive role model for club members.
  • Supervise club activities with creativity and imagination under the direction of the Club Director.
  • Complete required training in a timely manner.
  • Assist with the daily food program, including receiving, temperature documentation, meal distribution, and clean-up, as directed by the Club Director.
  • Understand the mission, objectives, policies, programs, and procedures of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Suncoast, as well as the principles of non-profit organizations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary.
  • Creativity and the ability to make activities enjoyable.
  • Flexibility and responsibility are essential.
  • Ability to engage with children of various ages.
  • Willingness to complete organization-sponsored CPR training.

TRAVEL:

Occasional travel may be necessary to various Club facilities for training and other organizational purposes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This role requires the ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, and use a keyboard. Employees may occasionally need to bend and lift or move up to 25 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment is typically moderate to high in noise level. Flexibility in scheduling may be required to accommodate changing needs.
