Position Overview

The Rays Baseball Club LLC is in search of a passionate and innovative leader to fill the role of Director of Fan Experience. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional service and creating a vibrant and memorable atmosphere for fans and staff at our venues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and oversee the comprehensive strategy and implementation of the guest experience initiative, fostering a culture of service excellence.
  • Design, execute, and manage training and development programs to unify all segments contributing to the Rays experience.
  • Mentor and empower team members to meet and exceed our objectives related to guest engagement.
  • Establish metrics to evaluate Guest Service performance through surveys and data analysis, making informed decisions based on these insights.
  • Develop and manage recognition and incentive programs for game day staff that promote outstanding service levels.
  • Create and deliver training programs across all segments, ensuring effective evaluation of their impact.
  • Collaborate with the Fan Experience training coordinator to implement employee recognition initiatives.
  • Establish and maintain a complaint resolution process to ensure timely and effective responses to customer inquiries and issues.
  • Document employee incidents and provide guidance to Guest Services team members, ensuring adherence to established policies and procedures.
  • Champion ADA initiatives for our venues.
  • Oversee recruitment and hiring practices for game day personnel.
  • Manage a team of 300 front-line staff while collaborating with Security, Merchandise, Concessions, and Housekeeping representatives.
  • Work closely with business analytics, community engagement, marketing, stadium operations, sales, and service teams to develop innovative fan engagement strategies.
  • Supervise the Stadium Tour program.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in hospitality, marketing, sports management, business administration, or a related field is required. Equivalent, relevant work experience may be considered.
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of experience in managing large teams in a service or hospitality environment.
  • Experience in leading a diverse full-time team.
  • A demonstrated passion for service and enhancing the guest experience.
  • Strong leadership and personnel management skills with the ability to coach and inspire.
  • Prior experience in developing training materials.
  • Creative problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a focus on teamwork.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Experience with budget management and general accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with ABI scheduling software is preferred.
  • Background in guest service or hospitality within the sports or entertainment sectors is preferred.
