With over 15 years of experience, we are committed to serving the immigrant population in Southern California.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a full-time Staff Attorney to join our Representation Program, focusing on assisting both detained and non-detained immigrants navigating removal proceedings.

The Staff Attorney will engage in a diverse array of cases under the guidance of a Managing Attorney. Responsibilities will include applying for various forms of relief such as Asylum, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, and Cancellation of Removal, as well as challenging deportation through innovative legal strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide legal representation to clients in immigration matters.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and case management.
  • Prepare and submit applications for immigration relief.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective legal strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Active bar admission or pending bar results (California state bar preferred).
  • Experience in legal settings, particularly in immigration or public interest law.
  • Strong skills in organization, legal writing, and research.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and take initiative.
  • Commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
  • Passion for advocating for social justice for immigrants and marginalized communities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in a second language, such as Spanish, French, Mandarin, Portuguese, or a Mayan dialect.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including children and families.
  • Background in community outreach and public speaking.
