Overview

Position Summary: Act as the Air Traffic Control Systems Desk Officer for the leadership of the Army Aeronautical Services Agency and the Director of Army Aviation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the operational readiness of all assigned ATC systems across various Army Airfields and Tactical ATC Companies to ensure effective allocation of manpower, funding, and spare parts for operational support.
  • Evaluate and identify opportunities for collaborative ATC, AM, and airfield support initiatives with other military branches and allied nations.
  • Provide insights for program requirements development, modernization strategies, and equipment integration to maintain compliance within the Army.
  • Formulate Program Objective Memorandum (POM) for material and funding needs for Fixed Base and Tactical ATC, AM, and Airfield systems.
  • Advise the Director on research, funding, and material acquisition priorities for coordination across the Aviation Enterprise.
  • Engage in POM and budget execution/decrement analysis for designated programs.

To qualify, you must possess the experience outlined below. Experience encompasses both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer activities through National Service programs and other organizations. Your resume must clearly detail your relevant experience; if qualifying through education, transcripts will be required.

Specialized Experience: A minimum of one year of specialized experience that includes ensuring effective allocation of manpower, funding, and equipment to support Airfield operations; justifying program modernization and budget requirements; prioritizing equipment fielding, legacy systems divestiture, and resource allocation; providing both long-range and short-range program fielding recommendations. This specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service.

Some federal positions allow for the substitution of education for required experience. For this role, qualification must be based solely on experience; no educational substitution is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last year must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.
