Position Summary:

The Transportation Manager plays a crucial role in enhancing the quality of life for residents by overseeing the transportation needs for out-of-facility appointments. This position serves as a vital resource for the driving staff, ensuring efficient operations and compliance with all relevant regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and guidance to drivers within the organization, acting as a supportive supervisor.
  • Ensure all transportation vehicles maintain active registration and licensing as per state requirements.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection process for open driver positions.
  • Monitor and verify the accuracy of monthly mileage records.
  • Support the operation and maintenance of GPS tracking systems.
  • Review and analyze GPS reports for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all drivers are properly qualified, trained, and compliant with safety standards.
  • Manage contract invoicing and track transportation costs across facilities.
  • Evaluate appointment schedules to optimize transportation logistics.
  • Maintain a comprehensive rental log and develop strategies for cost reduction.
  • Review relevant data to ensure operational effectiveness.
  • Uphold the comfort, privacy, and dignity of residents during transportation.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and inquiries while maintaining a courteous demeanor.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and staff to foster a supportive environment.
  • Ensure safe equipment usage and report maintenance issues as necessary.
  • Participate in staff meetings and continuing education to maintain professional standards.
  • Adhere to confidentiality protocols in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Implement infection control measures in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Promote and protect resident rights, ensuring dignity and respect in all interactions.
  • Perform additional tasks as required to support operational needs.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This role includes supervisory duties over drivers, providing guidance and support as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 1 year of experience in transportation management.
  • A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff.
