Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) provides an extensive range of banking, capital markets, and advisory services, including a complete suite of sales, trading, and research capabilities for corporate, governmental, and institutional clients. Our focus is on the overall financial needs of our clients, with due consideration and respect for their entire relationship with Wells Fargo.

The Insurance Investment Banking Team, part of Wells Fargo's CIB Financial Institutions Group, is on the lookout for a skilled and seasoned Vice President to join and expand one of the foremost insurance investment banking practices in the industry.

In this capacity, you will:
  • Assist the insurance investment banking coverage group, product partners, and the wider Wells Fargo team in business growth.
  • Devise innovative strategic and financing solutions for insurance clients.
  • Implement advisory and capital markets transactions on behalf of our clients and Wells Fargo.
  • Foster the development of our junior team members.
This position can be located in various regions.

Essential Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Investment Banking, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in financial services within investment banking or as an actuary or accountant, demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
  • Experience in the insurance sector is highly preferred, particularly with life and annuity companies.
  • 3+ years of full-time experience in an insurance actuarial role.
  • Strong quantitative skills with experience in developing and analyzing actuarial appraisals.
  • Experience conducting actuarial due diligence for M&A transactions (reviewing financial metrics, assumptions, risks, etc.).
  • Knowledge of various insurance regulatory and accounting changes and their potential implications for our clients.
  • Understanding of U.S. GAAP and U.S. Statutory accounting frameworks for clients in the U.S., as well as other accounting frameworks for offshore jurisdictions.
  • Familiarity with various reinsurance solutions that enhance transaction value.
  • Comprehension of key risk factors affecting the profitability of various life and annuity products.
  • Ability to engage with both clients and actuarial consulting firms on actuarial matters during transactions.
  • Knowledge of various asset classes supporting insurance liabilities, particularly private credit and private equity investments.
  • Capability to prepare and analyze a transaction model, incorporating actuarial and deal-specific terms to illustrate transaction structure to investors.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Aptitude for working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks.
  • Motivated team player with strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and deliver results.
Job Expectations:
  • Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position.
  • Compliance with state law registration and licensing requirements is mandatory.
  • Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards.
Compensation:

The base pay range for this position is reflective of the offered compensation. Pay may vary based on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.
