Position Overview

We are seeking to recruit a Regional Sales Executive for our commercial division in the United States.

Reporting directly to the Sales Director, your primary responsibility will be to achieve revenue targets across your designated territory and channels. This role involves close collaboration with various departments including Editorial, Marketing, and Open Research to ensure a cohesive approach to team management.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement short to medium-term sales strategies.
  • Meet and surpass annual sales objectives, contributing to the overall revenue and profit goals of the division.
  • Coordinate department resources and team structure in alignment with your line manager.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct regular sales visits to clients, ensuring financial targets are met within your sales region across the product portfolio. Customize sales documentation and tools to optimize sales opportunities.
  • Build and maintain strong professional relationships with key accounts in your assigned territory.
  • Foster sustainable and profitable relationships with the customer base, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Gather and share market, competitor, and customer insights, including referring leads to other channels or offerings when beneficial.
  • Establish a strategic framework for short, medium, and long-term business activities in your territory, ensuring adaptability to the changing trading landscape.
  • Adhere to company trading policies and terms to safeguard profitability and value within your territory and channels.
  • Engage with various stakeholder departments to enhance coverage of the territory, including credit control, editorial, marketing, higher education sales, and sales support.
  • Select and tailor sales materials and catalogs for customer visits, as well as create title lists and provide catalogs (both existing and customized) for customers attending events.
  • Conduct thorough analyses of products, customers, markets, and competitors. Stay informed about business and market trends, identifying opportunities and providing recommendations for improvement to relevant managers.
