FLSA Designation:
Non-Exempt, Full-Time, 35 hours/week, 12 months, $17.43 Hourly Rate. Note: This is a Full-Time, Union, grant-funded position with benefits contingent upon funding availability. Typical hours: 9am - 5pm

Summary of Classification
This role encompasses a comprehensive range of professional, administrative, and clerical support functions. It also involves providing the public and staff with courteous, effective, and timely information and services.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

A. Education and Experience:

General Experience:
  1. A minimum of three years of experience in administrative or clerical roles.
Substitution Allowed:

1. College coursework in Business or Administrative Science may substitute for general office experience.
B. Credentials:

C. Licensures, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
Candidates may be required to hold a current CT Motor Vehicle Class D Operator License.

D. Continuing Education Requirements:

E. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Proficient understanding of general office principles and procedures using IBM compatible computers (Windows, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.).
  2. Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and telephone skills.
  3. Familiarity with Database Management.
  4. Ability to create and maintain an organized filing system.
  5. Knowledgeable in business communication and basic mathematics.
  6. Capacity to prioritize and schedule tasks effectively.
  7. Basic bookkeeping knowledge is advantageous.
  8. Helpful demeanor with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  9. Must exercise sound judgment, tact, and courtesy.
  10. Ability to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions
The following outlines the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties:

1. Correspondence: Prepares documents, correspondence, forms, and other related materials.
  1. Filing: Conducts basic and complex processing tasks such as sorting, numbering, coding, and filing documents.
  2. Interpersonal: Acts as a receptionist, welcoming the public, answering phones, and addressing routine inquiries.
  3. Processing: Operates standard office equipment. Manages inventory and orders supplies. Reviews information for accuracy and completeness. Organizes and schedules meetings, workshops, and interviews for the program. Handles confidential materials to ensure privacy. Maintains records of reports and budgets. Sorts and distributes mail. Attends meetings and conferences as necessary.
  4. Performs additional duties as assigned by the Grants Supervisor.

Physical Requirements:

Employees in this position must possess adequate physical strength, stamina, agility, and visual and auditory acuity to perform the duties required. A physical examination may be necessary.
