Program Overview:
As a Cybersecurity Systems Engineer, you will become an integral part of a dedicated team of experienced professionals delivering Information Assurance (IA) Architecture Analysis and Security Engineering Support. This role focuses on the deployment and operationalization of critical communication capabilities that support national security initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
The Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will engage in a consultative capacity, offering technical insights, expertise, and recommendations to our stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough technical security evaluations of computing environments to pinpoint vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with established IA standards and regulations.
  • Validating and confirming system security requirements and establishing robust security designs.
  • Designing, developing, and integrating IA and security systems, including components for networking and computing environments with varying data protection requirements.
  • Incorporating IA into systems deployed in operational settings.
  • Collaborating with architects and system developers to identify and implement suitable information security functionalities, ensuring consistent application of security policies.
  • Assisting in the development of security architectures and enforcing trusted relationships among external systems.
  • Evaluating and mitigating security threats and risks throughout the program lifecycle.
  • Contributing to security planning, assessments, risk analysis, and certification activities for system and networking operations.
  • Reviewing Certification and Accreditation (C&A) documentation, providing feedback on its completeness and compliance.

Clearance Requirement:
Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph is mandatory. U.S. Citizenship is required.

Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field is preferred, accompanied by a minimum of 12 years of experience as an Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) or Network Engineer in relevant programs.

Certifications such as CISSP or CASP are required, with CISSP - ISSEP being a DoD approved 8570 baseline certification for Level III positions.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will possess:

  • Strong writing skills and the ability to present briefings to senior-level officials.
  • Expertise in network technology and systems security engineering.
  • Experience in identifying and documenting security vulnerabilities across various systems.
  • Knowledge of NIST Special Publications 800 Series, CNSSI 1253, and DoD 8500.
  • Hands-on experience with security and network components, such as routers, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.
  • The ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Compensation:
The pay range for this position is $122,000 to $220,900. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Factors influencing the offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, and internal equity.
