Your Key Responsibilities:

Leidos is in search of a Lead Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to join a compact team responsible for maintaining various system security plans in a vibrant, client-focused setting. The ideal candidate will support multiple organizations from a centralized location, with no travel obligations. This role is pivotal in supporting a mission-critical program with high visibility and a successful history.

The Lead Cybersecurity Systems Engineer will play a crucial role in the client's information assurance initiatives and activities.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting technical security assessments of client environments to identify vulnerabilities or non-compliance with established standards, and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Designing, developing, and integrating information assurance measures into security systems and components.
  • Collaborating with systems engineers and developers to identify and implement security features, ensuring consistent application of policies.
  • Applying expertise in system security engineering throughout the design process, lifecycle, risk management, testing, and other areas requiring security knowledge.
  • Providing expert guidance and evaluating work products for security engineers.
  • Engaging with clients, IT personnel, and stakeholders to define and achieve information assurance objectives.
  • Assisting the Government in ensuring that the architecture and design of information systems are both functional and secure, including program of record and special purpose environments.
  • Reviewing certification and accreditation documentation.
  • Collaborating with up to 8 other Information System Security Officers (ISSO) and Information System Security Engineers (ISSE) within the team.

This role requires a minimum of twenty (20) years of experience as an ISSE on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security System Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution is mandatory.

A Master's degree in a relevant field may substitute for two (2) years of experience. Additionally, four (4) years of relevant ISSE experience may replace a Bachelor's degree.

The candidate must currently hold and maintain one of the following certifications:

  • ISC2 CISSP-ISSEP is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Personnel must be fully cleared, which includes having a favorably adjudicated Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) within the last seven (7) years and/or being enrolled in the Continuous Evaluation program. Eligible candidates also require a favorably adjudicated Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph (CSPG) within the last seven (7) years and must have completed a Full Scope Polygraph (FSPG) during the course of their initial or continued final clearance processing.
