Area Vice President Build to Rent

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Area Vice President to lead our Build to Rent operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, directing, and developing our single-family and build-to-rent assets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets and financials for each location, ensuring communities stay within budget guidelines.
  • Regularly monitor the performance of all communities and make recommendations for improvements.
  • Ensure the initiation and management of all core business processes at communities, including leasing and marketing strategies.
  • Work with BH support departments to develop process workflows enhanced for single-family and build-to-rent management needs.
  • Maintain communications with clients, investors, and manage vendor/contractor relations.
  • Travel 60% or as needed to meet business needs.
Business Development
  • Grow the single-family and build-to-rent portfolio through new deal development and pitching new clients on third-party fee management.
  • Sources new clients and developers for the single-family and build-to-rent platform.
  • Maintain an awareness and understanding of the goals of the company and work to enhance its overall image and presence in the market.
Leadership
  • Hire, train, develop, and lead a team of Regional Managers for the single-family and build-to-rent segment of the business.
Requirements
  • 7 years of previous Property Management experience, including prior experience in a Regional Manager role or similar.
  • Lease up experience.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and strong computer technology skills.
  • Previous experience managing a team with demonstrated leadership/mentoring skills.
  • Experience in preparing/analyzing financial data, budgets, and market surveys.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people and customers.
  • Strong business development skills with the ability to pitch new clients on BH single-family management expertise.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Management.
  • CAM/CAPS Licensed Property Manager.
