Position Overview

Under the overarching guidance of the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Clinical Officer (CCO) holds the essential authority and accountability to manage all designated departments, including rehabilitation, counseling, behavioral health, and patient advocacy. The primary role of the CCO is to organize, lead, and ensure the effective operation of these departments, alongside any additional areas assigned. The CCO is also tasked with the operational efficiency of in-house programs and the cultivation of collaborative relationships with external organizations and agencies, aiming to deliver a comprehensive range of quality services that cater to the diverse needs of our patients. This role requires availability around the clock and entails responsibility for clinical service departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee clinical operations at the designated facility.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for physicians, psychologists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness and outcomes of programs, implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Promote team-building initiatives with patients and their families.
  • Coordinate the delivery of patient programs and activities aligned with the organization's mission and objectives.
  • Develop innovative strategies to support the organization's strategic goals.
  • Ensure program activities comply with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Guarantee that all staff members receive proper orientation and training in accordance with organizational standards.
  • Supervise program staff by providing guidance, input, and constructive feedback.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor staff members.
  • Actively engage in the education and mentoring of team members within the scope of practice.
  • Exhibit comprehensive knowledge of individual patients' histories, current progress, and personal challenges.
  • Participate in weekly patient rounds and treatment planning as required.
  • Engage in family conferences and other patient care discussions as necessary.
  • Ensure fiscal accountability across all departments.
  • Guarantee that all clinical departments under the CCO's oversight deliver appropriate services in accordance with professional licensing regulations.
  • Ensure staffing levels are appropriate for each clinical department under the CCO's direction.
  • Demonstrate the ability to address and resolve concerns or conflicts with patients' families, colleagues, or external stakeholders in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings to promote effective communication and identify potential issues.
  • Complete employee performance evaluations promptly and ensure all necessary documentation is submitted to payroll in a timely manner.
  • Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing.
  • Provide appropriate recognition and corrective actions for staff as needed.
  • Ensure staff participation in all mandatory training sessions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Master's degree in a healthcare-related field from an accredited institution.

Experience:

  • Preferred minimum of five years of management experience in an inpatient healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with assisting individuals with neurological impairments or disabilities in acute care or community reintegration programs is preferred.
  • Experience working with patients facing psychiatric disorders or developmental challenges is advantageous.

Licensure/Certification:

  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Certification in Satori Alternative to Managing Aggression (SAMA).
  • Maintain current professional licensure in good standing throughout employment.
