Seattle, Washington, United States Amazon Full time

Overview

In the realm of AWS, thousands of Solutions Architects engage with clients weekly, guiding them through AWS Services in a secure and controlled environment. These interactions are pivotal in building customer trust and demonstrating how AWS Services can address their business and technical challenges.

Our dedicated team is responsible for developing and managing the products that facilitate these engagements, allowing Solutions Architects to concentrate on delivering impactful, high-quality experiences for our clients. We are in search of a seasoned Technical Program Manager (TPM) to join our ranks, collaborating closely with our Product Manager and Software Development Managers. The TPM plays a crucial role at the intersection of engineering, product management, operations, and customer interactions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a representative of our team while collaborating with various teams and organizations.
  • Oversee cross-team dependencies, risks, and trade-offs, balancing developer experience with time to market.
  • Lead engineering and integration decisions across multiple teams and organizations.
  • Establish metrics and indicators to measure business success and ensure high-quality technical deliveries.
  • Maintain regular communication with senior management regarding status updates, risks, and change control.
  • Proactively identify and address strategic issues that may hinder the team's ability to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement in software development practices and processes, preparing the team for future scaling.
  • Manage complexity by understanding intricate business processes across various units, geographies, and product lines, and propose enhancements to improve customer experiences.
  • Deliver impactful results by designing metrics, collecting and analyzing data, and presenting findings and recommendations to senior management.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to comprehend priorities and collaborate effectively.

A Day in the Life

On a typical day, our TPM may assist Solutions Architects with inquiries about event creation or execution using our tools. By identifying recurring themes from customer feedback, they might update product documentation or partner with the Product Manager to propose new product features.

They may collaborate with an AWS Service Team to ensure the supportability of upcoming product features, providing guidance on how our products can facilitate new launches. Additionally, they might work with the Event Marketing team to plan and execute significant marketing events or participate in engineering sprint exercises, refining specific stories for delivery during that sprint.

About Our Team

Our team is dedicated to building and managing the products that drive interactive customer engagements, including Workshops, Immersion Days, Activation Days, Builders' Sessions, Hackathons, and more. We ensure these events are of the highest quality, secure, and effective.

Our systems facilitate hundreds of events weekly for tens of thousands of customers, helping them explore AWS Services in a safe and controlled manner. These engagements are essential in fostering customer confidence in AWS Services and illustrating how these services can resolve their business and technical challenges.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in technical product or program management.
  • 3+ years of experience in software development.
  • 3+ years of experience working directly with engineering teams.
  • Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, establishing processes, and coordinating release schedules.
