Role Overview

As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Sales Engineering team, recognized as vital contributors to our sales strategy. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Enterprise accounts, acting as a trusted advisor to both Account Managers and our clientele. Your expertise will guide the delivery of innovative solutions that address contemporary cyber threats.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the Technical Lead throughout the Proofpoint Pre-Sales process.
  • Work alongside the sales team to devise and implement targeted account engagement strategies.
  • Establish and nurture trust with customers and prospects, serving as their primary technical contact.
  • Conduct engaging product demonstrations that respond to pressing cybersecurity challenges.
  • Collaborate with customer security teams for technical assessments and manage Proof-of-Concept (POC) and Production Evaluations.
  • Design and advocate for complex People-Centric Security solutions across the Proofpoint portfolio.
  • Occasionally assist in professional services deployments and present at industry events.
  • Provide valuable insights and experiences to Product Management and Engineering teams to enhance our offerings.
  • Develop expertise in Email Security Gateways, Advanced Persistent Threats, and the evolving threat landscape.

Senior-Level Duties

  • Mentor new team members in Proofpoint products and the sales process.
  • Create and deliver training sessions for peers and account managers.
  • Contribute to corporate communications and maintain internal documentation.
  • Develop solutions for common challenges and establish best practices within the team.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of relevant technical experience in roles such as Sales/Systems Engineer or Technical Account Manager, preferably in cybersecurity.
  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining customer relationships.
  • Experience with large Enterprise clients.
  • Proven ability to manage large-scale assessments and expectations.
  • Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences, including technical staff and executives.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise or Cloud Security, including cloud/SaaS platforms.
  • Exposure to various cybersecurity skill sets, including Data Loss Prevention and compliance.
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills are essential.
  • Relevant cybersecurity certifications are advantageous.
  • A Bachelor's or advanced degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
